How to Share WiFi Connection on Android

Last summer, I was staying at a beautiful resort in the Dominican Republic with no access to mobile data, so I needed to depend on WiFi. Unfortunately, my network access only allowed me to have one device at a time on the network. This was a huge pain because I wanted to connect both my phone and laptop to the network. After some searching, I found out a simple way to share wifi from an android device.

What You Will Need:

  • Netshare

Share Wifi From Android

In order to share wifi from an Android device, you will need to download an app called Netshare. This app allows you to share your android wifi connection to other devices without needing a rooted device.

Once you open the app, click the button to start the hotspot. You will be provided with a network name (SSID) and password. Unfortunately, you can’t change them.

Now on any other device, connect to the listed network name. It might take up to two minutes for it to appear. After you connect, go to the proxy settings and set a proxy with the address and port listed from the app.  Here are the settings on my iPad.

You can also find the proxy settings in Windows

That’s it. Once you enter the proxy settings you should have an internet connection.
